Pomchi Hybrid Dogs (Chi-Pom, Chiranian)

A Pomchi is a hybrid dog that is a cross between a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. As can be expected this canine hybrid is a small to toy sized dog, typically not more than twelve pounds at full maturity although some of the smaller dogs will mature at closer to five to seven pounds.

There is a considerable difference in the coat type of both parent breeds so the Pomchi, also known as the Chi-Pom and the Chiranian can be closer in appearance to the Pomeranian or the shorter coated Chihuahua. In crossing with a longer coated Chihuahua the coat will be more Pomeranian in appearance. Pomchi Hybrid Dogs (Chi-Pom, Chiranian) - Read Full Story

Westiepoo Hybrid Dogs

The Westiepoo dog, sometimes called the Wee-Poo dog, is a hybrid dog created by breeding a purebred West Highland White Terrier with a Miniature Poodle. Since the purebred Westie is all white, the color will be inherited from the Poodle side of the cross, resulting in an amazing variety of colors.

Westie-Poo dogss can vary from apricot to solid black, black with white, creams, yellows, chocolate colors and white with any other color. The coat of this canine hybrid is typically very low shedding and curly to slightly wavy, usually shorter to moderate in length. The hair tends to look fairly tousled even when freshly groomed and bathed. Westiepoo Hybrid Dogs - Read Full Story

Shepadoodle Hybrid Dogs

The Shepadoodle is one of the canine hybrids that is somewhat difficult to pinpoint in a description since they can vary in their coat types, colors and even which parent dog breed they most closely favor.

A Shepadoodle is produced through the breeding of a German Shepherd Dog (GSD) with a Standard Poodle and as such they are one of the larger members of the hybrid breeds. Shepadoodle Hybrid Dogs - Read Full Story

Top 10 Dog Movies from 1970- to the Present

Over the years, there have been many “modern” dog movies. Many, however, still conform to the tried and true formula of as child and his or her dog. Dog movies continue to be about the close attachment between a person and their companion. Dog movies explore this bond, trying to express its dimensions. There are also dog movies that look at issues such as dog fighting, dog abuse and the spoiling of dogs. Some are light-hearted comedies, others are tear jerkers. Below, you will find the top 10 for this period. Top 10 Dog Movies (Since 1970) - Read Full Story

Top 10 Dog Movies (pre 1970 Classics)

The current success of Marley and me at the box office illustrates the power of the dog. From the earliest movies to the present day, a canine companion can improve the rating. The human actors may fail to come up to speed and the plot may sicken, but the dog can save the movie from falling into oblivion.

This includes not only overnight but over time. Rin Tin Tin, for example, not only saved Warner Brothers Studios from bankruptcy, he also salvaged many a mediocre movie. The same can be said for other all time great dog actors, including Strongheart, Lassie and Benji.
Some of the major dog classic movies focus on the dog and his or her relationship to one person, frequently a child. This is particularly true of the first top 2 of this list. Top 10 Dog Movies (pre 1970 Classics) Read Full Story
